While you're in Philadelphia, I strongly recommend that you lift the ban on flour long enough to stop at Jim's Steaks, at 6th (I think) and South Streets. Get the steak with provolone (rather than cheez wiz) and onions. If you were me, you'd get two of them. Also, at 4th and Bainbridge (only a couple of blocks from Jim's) used to be a wonderful pastry shop called "The Pink Rose." You don't want to go there. If you want deli, the Famous 4th St. Deli may still be around, as well, at 4th and Bainbridge.
I also recommend you stop at the Curtis Building (which is on the west side of the park behind Independence Hall) and see the wall-sized Tiffany glass mural of a Maxfield Parrish painting in the lobby.
here's a link to a photo of the mural: it's the only thing of its kind anywhere. google curtis building tiffany mural to get more info. it's breathtaking.
Have fun - Merry Christmas! Hey my word verification is "kulfauxe." Note that even though it actually contains the word "faux," my wish for you is genuine.

Thanks, Narya! the total truth is, we might not get to Philly itself. (His cousin lives a bit outside Philly.) But we're gonna try!

Merry Christmas to you, too!
It's "faux" because I'm not a Christian!
