The Unexpected and Somewhat Surprising Return of Monday Questionnaire
1. Name something you are often complimented on, but which you think is no big deal.
2. What is your least favorite thing about summer?
3. Name something you think is funny that no one else seems to think is funny.
3 Comments:
1. "You have a lot of DVDs." For some reason I fear this impresses people, though it is proof of little more than my having spent too much money on too much mediocrity.
2. Besides the humidity? I'd say the way nothing seems to happen in summertime, how everything always seems vaguely on hold. It's like a three-month test pattern.
3. Jokes about pedophilia.
What a delightful surprise!
1. I can't think of one.
2. I love exactly what Eric hates about summer (the test pattern bit, not the humidity). My least favorite thing, besides seasonal allergies, is that the very grandness of summer holds the seed of the bitterness of winter. (Also, summer could work on subtlety. I love long, hot days, and dramatic lightning storms, and inky summer evenings, but a little mist or softer light once in a while wouldn't hurt.) That was three things, but I have to make up for not answering the first question.
3. My humor can be arid at times. Often, no one else gets that I'm joking. I choose friends largely by whether they understand dry humor.
I don't hate summer! It IS too short!!
Here's a fun word play that few people enjoy:
Q. How do you decline a noun?
A. No, thank you!
Not as funny if you haven't studied Greek, Latin, Russian, or German...
