Cult/Not Cult?

Here's a tricky one: cutting edge computer intelligence company, or something more sinister? The founder has some serious delusions of grandeur...but is ranked among the most brilliant scientists of our time. His work is revolutionary, but shrouded in strange nomenclature like "accelerated intelligence" and "spiritual machines". Without further ado, I give you:

Kurzweil AI

(Be sure to dig around a little.)

Not a cult. Probably not something more sinister either, I think--just a little hysterical, a little overeager about The Possibilities That Lie Just Yonder.

The founder, for all his excesses, does seem like a genuine scientist and not a Total Crackpot, and I think total crackpotness is requisite for cult-founder status.

This game rules.

I'm leaning "cult" on this one. The man is obsessed with his own immortality.

Good point. I alter my vote to Not Cult, but really, really weird company. Really weird company with a slightly crazed founder.
