An observation

A friend of mine, upon visiting me in my new apartment, commended, "You need to get a bigger TV."

I ask you: could any piece of advice be more likely unsound than You need to get a bigger TV?

Sounds like a challenge to me.

Oh wait, I just thought of one: "You must get an even faster computer."

I've had people give me fingernail care advice. You know what my nail care regimen is? Bite 'em before they get too long.

Manicure advice directed at me is grossly misplaced.

Lately, though, I've found myself taking advice that once I would have dismissed. Earlier today, for example, a friend mentioned a rhubarb pie she had baked. Whereas at one time I would have responded, "Who the hell would bake rhubarbs into a pie?", this time I thought, "Hmm.. never tried that. Could be interesting."

Other advice I've taken recently, to my benefit:

"Working on your quads will heal that knee injury faster."

"Those sneakers go really well with jeans or with khaki shorts."

"Take the chicken out of the pan, put the vegetables in, then put the chicken back in."

"If you treat her badly, she'll like you more."

(Kidding there.)

"Your poem still isn't any good. Keep working on it."

(I'm paraphrasing that one. But it's what I HEARD.
