If you were an animal (other than homo sapiens) what kind would you be and why? If we all agree to play, pick someone else who frequents this site. What animal would s/he be and why?
I saw a very nice looking spider yesterday, and there was something elegant about the way he walked, and the way he went about his business. Spiders get a bum deal, I think: the vast majority of them never hurt anybody, and no gross liquids emerge from them like with some other bugs. And the climbing-walls thing is pretty cool, and the spinning of the web. Yes, I would choose spider, at least for a day or so.
(Part of this might be informed by what I know of Spider-Man, I'll admit, but I still think it applies.)
I like spiders a lot. I've always respected turles. Some Native American creation stories say the Earth is on a turtle's back.
Why a llama, I never explained. It's an delightfully unusual pack animal forced to carry heavy burdens up mountains. I've been feeling both delightfully unusual and burdened by work.
Hawks are powerful and get to fly above it all. I like how they sail through the air, seeming effortless.
