Well, I finally sucked it up and started one, too--no promises on what I manage to produce, though. Come on by and say hi, if you're so inclined. (You'll notice that I'm not revealing my true identity, though.) (except to you guys.)

ummm . . . well . . . on one hand, i've always liked emma, problematic though she can be in some ways, but there's also actually a third- or fourth- degree connection. the short version is that she got someone out of jail, who, in turn, inscribed a book to me, on the occasion of my (anarchist) grandfather's death. the inscriber had never met me, but had obviously heard about me, from my (anarchist0 grandfather. plus, at least in the 70s/80s, there was a poster featuring emma that quoted her saying something to the effect of "if i can't dance, i don't want to come to the revolution." even though she was jailed, many times, for her beliefs, and was a proponent of free love and contraception (before margaret sanger). what i love about emma is that she embraced and tried to live all of the contradictions. if you've ever read ursula leguin's work on anarchism ("the dispossessed"--one of the novels i wish i'd had the chance to teach in a political science class), then you will see how Odo and Emma are spiritual sisters.

Wow, very cool. I have to confess--with some embarassment--that I've never heard of Ms Goldman before. (I studied the ancient Greek philosophers in college...) I am Googling her now. :)

A, um, friend of mine, ahem, has also started a weblog, quite anonymously. It might be fun: j-thirteen.blogspot.com if you're interested. This, er, friend of mine cordially invites you all to read. *Cough, cough*--it's me--*cough, cough.* Oh, my. It's time for bed.

Miss you and your writing, kStyle!

Did I mention I'm thinking of going Out East for Spring Break?
