Monday Questionnaire

1. Name someone whom people say you remind them of. Is it a compliment?

2. How long have you known the friend you've known the longest? (Not just an acquaintance, now. A friend.)

3. Name something you waste.

1. George Costanza. I very much doubt it's a compliment.

2. I've known Christina for eighteen years. We were in elementary school together, until she skipped a grade and began outpacing me. But even though she's way smarter than I am, she still deigns to be my friend.

3. I feel very guilty about this, but since this is my people's season of atonement, I'll come clean. I use and discard plastic cups, bowls, and plates with reckless disregard for the environment. I have but one reason, and it's no excuse: I'm too lazy to wash a lot of dishes, and I enjoy my meal less if I know I have to wash dishes right afterward, so I buy and throw away. I'm sorry, planet Earth. I really am.

1. Elaine Boosler (I might be spelling it slightly wrong). Or Bonnie Raitt, though only because of the red hair. I'd say that both are compliments. Both of those are looks-based; I'd have to think to come up with one that's not.
2. Hmmmm; I've known Martha and Nan since I started college in 1977, so that's 27 years.
3. Water. I don't waste a lot of it, and I don't waste it a lot--it's more that I don't conserve it as much as I could. But I live two blocks from Lake Michigan, so it's hard to think of water as a scarce commodity. I'd probably behave differently if I lived in California or New Mexico or something.

I also waste produce, though I never mean to do so, and it upsets me when I do. it's more that I buy something and don't get around to using it or eating it before it turns into a science project. Sooner or later we're going to get (a) a stand-alone freezer and (b) one of those vacuum-packing things, and then I'll never waste food again. But I need a new job before I do that.

Bonnie Raitt is awesome.

For the record, I don't look like George Costanza. Except that we're both short.

1. No one really says I remind them of anyone, but once some coworkers decided that Drew Barrymore would play me in the movie.

2. Ann must be the friend I've known longest! We go back to 7th grade. So that's...how long?

3. Thoughts and energy.
