Monday Questionnaire

1. When trapped in a boring phone conversation, are you more likely to end it or to wait it out? If you end it, do you lie to do it?

2. Who is your favorite Muppet? Your favorite "Simpsons" character?

3. Name something you haven't done enough of.

1. Depending on the person, I may wait it out a little, but usually I end it. "My dinner's ready" often works. "I have another call" used to work, but people can hear if you get a beep or not, so it's harder to fake.

2. Fozzie Bear. Ralph Wiggum.

3. I haven't done enough studying of world history.

1. I usually wait it out.
2. I didn't watch Sesame Street (I'm too old to have seen it when it was first on, and I never really watched it as an adult). I don't really know the various characters well enough to pick one, but I suspect most people would assign Oscar the Grouch to me.
3. Sex. No such thing as enough sex.

1. I don't talk on the phone much, so I'm not sure. I think I would probably wait it out a bit and/or try to steer the conversation in a different direction. If that didn't work, I'd end the conversation.

2. Muppet: Ernie. Simpsons: Lisa.

3. Learned enough about classical music.

Regarding Muppets, I actually wasn't thinking of "Sesame Street," though Henson did a lot of memorable work for them. (Ernie is a favorite of mine too. Rubber ducky, you're the one.) I was thinking of "The Muppet Show" and the movies, the classic Muppets: Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, Miss Piggy, Dr. Honeydew, Beaker, the Swedish Chef, Dr. Teeth, Rolf the Dog, Animal, Scooter...

I must confess that The Muppet Show very often scared me as a kid. I felt somewhat betrayed by my gentle friend Kermit when i saw him cavorting with the wilder muppets.

But the Swedish Chef--now he's funny.
